ACHE (LIVÈCHE)

Aches: its synonyms: perpetual celery, perennial celery, bastard celery, mountain ache or Maggi herb.
The seeds and roots of ache are used to flavour alcoholic drinks. Stems and petioles can be candied. The use of lovage has been largely replaced by that of celery. It is still mainly cultivated in Switzerland and Germany.
